Everyone would love pretty nails that are carefully polished and the nail arts that are drawn by experts to bring out a beautiful look. When looking for such beauty products, one’s general health is taken into consideration. The nail polish chosen should be free from toxic substances so that one can wear it for some time without destroying the nails or any part of the body through spreading of the chemicals.
When one wants to wear a different nail polish, care should be taken not to use a nail remover that has acetone as one of its components. Acetone is responsible for flaking and reducing the strength of a nail plate. This happens because acetone drains water from the nail plates thus weakening the nails. One should, therefore, use non-acetone nail art and nail polish remover at least once in a week for healthy and strong nails.
During shopping sprees to cosmetic and beauty shops, the nail polish that one settles for should not be composed of a solvent known as toluene, preservatives called parabens and formaldehyde. Camphor is also harmful to the nail–a shiny finish that prevents chipping of the nail. All these are harmful chemicals to the nails and therefore, should be avoided so that the nails remain protected and cute as well.
Bogus nail polish could be a cause of dry, peeled or decolorized nails. The fake ones lack ingredients such as vitamins and oils responsible for nourishing the nail plates. The natural oils and vitamins like vitamin E give a favorable condition to the polishes underneath as well as the nail art on top of the polish. Additionally, the nourishing ingredients make the nails strong, firm, hydrated and free from infections. More attention should be given to nails on one’s feet because they take much longer to grow when compared to the fingernails. They take a very long time to grow in case of damage. Also, the nails of a person whose skin is lighter are bound to get destroyed worse than those of a darker-skinned person. Therefore, a fairer skinned person should exercise extra care on their nails to stay protected as far as nail polish and nail art is concerned.
Applying nail polish consistently ensures that the nails are firm and the chances of them breaking are very slim. Experts argue that when the nail art and the polish peel end up causing the nail plates to chip, one should consider manicuring them. After that, a break is recommended during which a clear polish is applied which reduces the chipping and hydrates the nails. Cuticle oil can alternatively be applied to the nail plate during the break from manicures. The nail is allowed to soak on the cuticle oil after which it is rinsed off and the base coat is applied. In case of extreme damage, one is advised to use a nail file and the cuticle oil regularly to make the nails tidy by filing the split and broken edges. As soon as the nails regenerate, a strong base coat is first applied before the colored nail polish and nail arts are worn to achieve protection against chipping.
