Fresh Eats and Tasty Treats: Benidorm’s Best Restaurants

2 Min Read

When you’re on holiday abroad, trying the local food is one of the best ways to experience the authenticity of a destination. Benidorm, on Spain’s beautiful Costa Blanca, is home to a huge number of British expats, so you’ll have no problem eating delicious familiar fare if that’s what you’re after. But while you’re there, why not take the plunge and mix it up a little with some more authentic Spanish tastes as well? After all, variety is the spice of life!

If you’re looking to send your taste buds on an adventure and chow down on some of the best food on the Costa Blanca, here’s where you can enjoy fresh eats and tasty treats.

Restaurante Casa Toni

You can’t get much more Spanish than Casa Toni – and the fact that it’s often packed to the rafters with local diners is proof. Even when it’s really busy, though, the warm family atmosphere makes it feel much more intimate, and firm menu favourites like the bocatas and cocas keep the regulars and visitors coming back for more. There’s a superb wine list and if you’ve got a hankering for a good steak, you won’t go wrong here.

Amigos

Speaking of steak though, if quantity is just as important to you as quality, Amigo’s infamous Galician steak tower is guaranteed to stop even the biggest eater in their tracks. This mouth-watering specialty features red pepper, garlic spinach, sweet potato mash, caramelized onion and blue cheese. It’s as indulgent as it sounds, but the rooftop terrace setting is the ultimate steak topper.

Llum del Mar

The name says it all really, but stunning views over the ocean aren’t the only stars of the show at the ‘Light of the Sea’. Featuring a menu packed with sublime Mediterranean specialties, you can dine on such delights as Iberian pork or wild local fish accompanied by locally grown artichokes and fennel.

La Falúa

With a romantic décor and a diverse a la carte menu offering a selection of the classic Spanish paella, lip-smackingly fresh seafood and tasty artisanal cheeses, La Falúa is another well-established local favourite. As well as Mediterranean cuisine, the restaurant serves up a smattering of international flavours – the very French apple tarte tartin is an absolute winner.
