Nail stamping is an old art that was established in the 1980s and is still widely in use in this era. Many manufacturers are producing stamping plates of their own as the trend is now profitable. The plates, tools and opaque nail polishes have a high demand hence they sell like hotcakes. The nail stamping plates are hard to place therefore the need for a professional who has mastered the art is necessary. The stamping plates can be incorporated into the nail arts to bring out classy designs that are fashionable and pretty. Apart from mixing these plates with the nail arts, they can also be blended with other plates of different colors for a breathtaking view.
One should first master the skill of applying the plates and mixing them with other designs such as French, nail art and colored stamps. The first time artists should follow a step by step guide that gives directions and tips on stamping. It is recommended that one assembles all the supplies in readiness for the nail stamping. This helps in avoiding flopping that is an instance where lacquer dries on the plate while trying to locate the stamper or other tools that are essential for the job.
Prior to applying nail stamping and arts, care is taken not to mess the cuticle. A tape is put around the cuticle to protect it from polish used as a base and the top coat. Also, the stamper might be having old polish. The polish is removed using a lint roller or a packing tape to clear the old polish because acetone is bound to destroy the stamping heads made of a soft silicone.
A nail polish remover is used to clear the polish applied previously to ensure that one has a clean nail, free from any polish. The base color is then applied, and then another layer is put on top of the base coat. Time is given for the top coat to dry and then stamping is done. In case of an error in the process of stamping, a tape or a wipe that is free from lint is put in acetone then used to remove the stamping or the nail art already applied carefully. If the stamp is light and removed with care, there won’t be need of reapplying the base and the top coat.
After nail stamping has been carried out, time is given for the nail plate to dry. A top coat is later applied lightly in few strokes to avoid bulkiness. The top coat is made to be on top of the design and care is taken not to smear the design using the brush. In case one prefers to use a scraper, too much force should not be used as it might end up removing excess polish from the plate thus damaging the nail art and the stamping that was applied. The stamper is carefully and firmly pressed to the plate to collect all the color. Following these guidelines ensures that one achieves eye-catching cute nails. Who wouldn’t like that?
