No Comments 2 Min Read

The Costa Blanca has been a huge destination for tourists from Britain and further afield for decades. Resorts from Alicante to Benidorm specialise in sun, sea, sand and good times, with everything from winding cobbled streets filled with the sizzle of tapas in the Old Town, to three Blue Flag beaches and some world-class resort hotels. But when the sun goes down, the place comes into its own. Late-night cocktails and live entertainment are the order of the day, and the party doesn’t stop till everyone goes home.

One thing Benidorm does better than anywhere else in the area is dance music. Hardcore and house are everywhere, with global DJs visiting throughout the summer. So where do you check out first? Here are a few of our picks for the best nights from Alicante to Benidorm.

Something tells me this is going to be a fun one…

KM Disco

Three floors, twelve bars and an on-site pool draw 5,000 punters most weekends – with even more in the summer. Judge Jules is a regular attraction, as are the legendary foam parties at this Benidorm institution. Explore the extensive premises or join everyone else on the dancefloor for an unforgettable night of house music.

Club Manssion

If you like your hardcore and have a Saturday night to spare (the only night this Benidorm behemoth tends to open), then join 5,000 other party pilgrims in the cavernous main room of Manssion. The atmosphere is raw, the music is powerful, and the crowd tends to be a young one, so the energy levels are unparalleled. They offer several ticket types, but the one that gets you in with three drinks for €20 is our pick.

Club Ku

The cream of local and international talent from Roger Sanchez to Bob Sinclair and that man Jules again throng each year to possibly the best-looking club in the town, a stone’s throw from Levante Beach. Work up a sweat in the main room, then chill out on the spacious grounds, or cool off in the outdoor pool. They’ve also just added a second room if you fancy a change from the typical house soundtrack to something more techno or minimal… Or something more unusual.

Club Penelope

The Spanish are a fun-loving people. There’s now a Club Penelope in most Spanish cities, but here’s where it all began in 1983. Club bangers and deeper house predominate here. If you prefer a higher-end clubbing experience, the best-dressed and hottest crowds are to be found right here. No expense has been spared with the white and neon décor – and you may even see a La Liga footballer or two if you’re here on the right night.

How to Get There

In less time than it takes for the train from London to Manchester, you can hop on a flight with almost every major airline from EasyJet to Ryanair (or BA if you can’t bear to slum it) that’ll get you straight to Alicante. To Benidorm is a 40-minute drive. Shuttle Direct offer a shuttle bus service that’ll get you there with a minimum of hassle, or a personalised chauffeur service door to door from Alicante to Benidorm. Get there, get on it, then get it on Insta – especially if you run into Iker Casillas in the smoking area.

Lukas Johannes is a driver for Shuttle Direct, the number one provider of shared and private airport transfers all over Europe and northern Africa. If you’re looking for the most affordable ride from Alicante to Benidorm, Lukas and his colleagues can make sure that you and your luggage get to and from the airport swiftly and safely.
