31202Black Friday at Eddie Stobart: Training Academy Peaks

No Comments 2 Min Read

As it turns out, Black Friday isn’t just about buying massively discounted TVs and iPads. Haulage companies are reaping the benefits, too. Eddie Stobart, a principal logistics and supply company based in the UK, used Black Friday to sell its popular courses at a discounted price and saw sign-ups to its Training Academy increase massively.

Impressive Results after Black Friday Training Discount

After launching a social media campaign that offered a 25% discount on their training courses, Eddie Stobart witnessed the number of drivers and businesses that register for their Academy increase by 200% (relative to the average number of sign-ups in the past months). The promotion was shared over 120 times by their followers and resulted in close to four-thousand visitors reading their further information section. Needless to say, it’s brilliant to see so many haulage companies looking to develop the skills of their drivers even further!

About the Training Academy

Although the courses used to be strictly in-house, the Eddie Stobart Training Academy opened its doors to other haulage companies, drivers and workers in September 2017. Their aim is to help the logistics and supply chain sectors to expand and improve key skills to remain competitive within the rapidly changing business environment.

They offer training courses for all aspects of the supply chain, including practical driving skills, health and safety awareness, as well as state-of-the-art IT solutions. Their headquarters, which are situated in Appleton, Warrington, welcome people from across the industry. While they pride themselves on ensuring that their employees are of the highest standard, they hope that their training will give other hauliers the
opportunity to become more adaptable, skilled and ready for any challenge as well.

Benefits of Category C or Full Category C & C+E Courses

When you complete the Category C+E licence, you’ll be fully qualified to drive a Large Goods Vehicle (LGV). With a Category C licence, you’ll be able to manoeuvre a 3.5-tonne vehicle with a trailer of up to 750 kilograms, and if you take the C+E Courses, you can get behind the wheel of a CatID C vehicle with a trailer of over 750 kilograms.

All you need to do is have a Category B (car) licence, obtain a provisional LGV licence and complete a medical before taking Eddie Stobart’s driving school course. You’ll be trained by their expert driving instructor in one of their newly branded Scania trucks.

Heightening Standards and Improving Safety

These training courses are an ideal way of ensuring that the standards of haulage companies continue to improve and that your drivers are fully equipped with the knowledge and skills to stay safe on the roads.

As I’m sure you know, the expectations and demands placed on haulage companies in the UK is ever-increasing. Academies like Eddie Stobart’s are perfect for keeping your company competitive. In January, the academy is offering another discount: you can get 10% off training courses and 20% off driving school lessons.
