If over 400 trucks paired with a chance to win a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Sweden sounds up your street, make sure join Scania GB with your Scania at Convoy in the Park on the 22-23 July.
Scania GB is planning to break the world record for the largest gathering of a single make of trucks this July and needs your help to do it. Aiming for over 400 vehicles, the manufacturers are offering every truck driver who parks in Scania Village an exclusive overnight goody-bag and a certificate to prove they took part in this exciting record-breaking attempt.
Scania Village Highlights
A truck driver parked in Scania Village will be enviably close to the sponsored stage where bands will play all weekend. You’ll hear the ultimate Gun N’ Roses tribute band, Gun or Roses, as well as the Americana group Mashville and a tribute to Johnny Cash. Fun activities, such as an eating contest, will also be taking place on stage.
The Village is well placed for an exciting view of the racing action. Don’t miss Scania’s double stand in the trade show area where they will be displaying and demonstrating their Next Generation R- and S-series trucks, winners of International Truck of the Year 2019.
Leaving on a Jet Plane?
All participants will be entered into a draw for a trip for two to Scania’s home town of Södertälje. The winning truck driver will receive a full factory tour as well as a visit to the museum. This is a unique experience sure to be on the bucket list of every Scania enthusiast.
All lorries in the Village will be automatically entered into one of Truck Sport’s 25 best in show categories and into an extra Best in Scania Village award. Trophies are not the only prizes up for grabs. The winning truck driver will have their vehicle photographed and turned into a poster which will be distributed to all T & D readers, it will also make an appearance as ‘Ed’s Choice’ in the magazine this year.
Ducking Awesome!
You might not win the trip to Sweden but you can still get your hands on some exclusive goodies. Taking inspiration from Kris Kristofferson’s character in the iconic trucking film Convoy, the Swedish manufacturer will be giving away 1000 rubber ducks exclusive to Convoy in the Park.
All you need to do to win a duck is take a selfie in front of any Scania in Convoy in the Park and share it on your favourite social media platform (Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram). Remember to use the hashtag #ConvoyinthePark and show your post to a member of staff on the company’s stand to grab your collector’s item!
Only 500 ducks will be available each day, and the competition is open to everyone, so get there early to avoid disappointment.
Truck Tickets and Camping
Convoy in the Park costs just £60 when you bring along your truck (£30 for pre-1985 models). This price includes entry into one of 25 show categories as well as weekend tickets for two adults worth £50. A small tent can be placed behind your vehicle and off-site camping is available if a larger plot is required.
