Lille Flandres station is located in the bustling centre of Lille, just a five minute walk from Place General de Gaulle. There are two train stations in Lille: Lille Europe and Lille Flandres. Lille Flandres station is situated in the heart of Lille, so you can explore the city centre while you wait for your train. The train station itself is an interesting and fascinating building; the station’s façade originally belonged to Paris Gare du Nord but in 1892 it was transported to Lille and became the new face of Lille Flandres. Although the station is mainly for local trains to towns and villages around Lille, some high speed services leave from the station, such as the TGV to Paris and the InterCity train to Belgium. There are also other international services but these trains leave from the Lille Europe station which is next door.
What are the Opening Hours?
The station is open between 05:00 and 00:30 on Monday to Saturday. On Sundays it is open from 06:10 to 00:30. Trains run throughout the day so you can fit in your travel plans around your itinerary very easily.
What Facilities are There on Site?
There is a Bureau de Change on site and it is situated near to the ticket office. The Bureau de Change is open between 08:00 and 18:30 from Monday to Friday, 10:00 to 17:00 on Saturday and 10:00 to 16:00 on Sundays and bank holidays. The train station also has a luggage and lost property office, so if you lose your luggage then the lost property staff will try to reunite you with your belongings as quickly as possible. The lost property office is situated inside the station and is open between 07:30 and 19:00 every day.
If you want to catch up on your emails then the station offers a Wi-Fi hotspot for you to use. There are also plenty of pay-phones should you need to make a telephone call.
There is also disabled access to the station and there is also a dedicated reception desk for disabled people. The desk is open between 05:45 and 22:45 Monday to Saturday and between 06:10 and 23:15 on Sundays.
What Other Facilities are There Nearby?
There are plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants to choose from in the city centre. If you arrive early for your train, or your connection is delayed, you will find lots to see and do in Lille. If you’re looking for local information, there is a tourist information centre which is situated very close to the station. The centre is on Place Rihour which is in the city centre and it is open from 09:30 to 18:30 Monday to Saturday, 10:00 to 12:00 and 14:00 to 17:00 on Sunday. Please note the tourist information centre does not open on 1st May, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
