A Menorca Holiday Guide to Vegetarian Restaurants

2 Min Read

If you’re a vegetarian, you may often find travelling to be difficult due to your dietary requirements. However, you no longer have to pass up a Menorca holiday because you are worried you won’t be able to find anywhere to eat. Despite that fact that veggie food options have taken a while to stick on the island (and throughout all of Spain), they now feature a fairly decent selection of restaurants where you can get a meat-free meal. Read on for some of our favourite vegetarian eateries.

Clorofilla Cuina Vegetariana

This is a great choice for vegetarians travelling in Menorca. Holidaymakers who are veggie will love that this restaurant features a menu that is completely meat free. Specialities include mushroom and spinach strudel, beetroot carpaccio and strozzapreti with cashew pesto. If you’re 100% vegan, there are options for you as well, such a buffet that changes daily and an indulgent custard. Enjoy your food on the outdoor terrace and take in the lovely views of the charming historic square where Clorofilla Cuina Vegetariana is located.

Fang i Aram Restaurant Vegetaria

Are you a veggie looking for great eats and history in Menorca? Holidaymakers with these requirements should make their way to Fang i Aram Restaurant Vegetaria, the island’s first completely vegetarian eatery. It started off as an organic supermarket in 2003, before morphing into a restaurant ten years later. All of the dishes are made with organic ingredients, and vegans will find plenty of choice here as well. Breakfast includes organic egg tortillas, crepes and local cheeses, which you can wash down with one of their freshly-squeezed juices. For lunch or dinner, indulge in a veggie burger, pan-Asian dish or pasta – and don’t surprised if your food comes with a tasty Menorcan twist!

Piqniq

Piqniq is a French restaurant with a variety of tasty meat-free options. It opened in 2016, and has been very popular ever since. The food is all entirely handmade and, although the menu is small, about half of it caters to vegetarians. Try everything from an indulgent dessert, a salad or soup to Thai vegetable rice, quinoa with chickpeas or a veggie or vegan burger.

Top Tip: When it comes to travelling in Menorca, holidays are great no matter the time of year. However, if you come to this island in the winter, you won’t be able to dine at Piqniq as they close their doors during the colder months.

There you have it: our Menorca holiday guide to vegetarian restaurants. If you’re a veggie, you no longer have to worry about what you’re going to eat if you travel to this lovely island. From French-inspired food to organic eats, there are so many meat-free places from which to choose.
