Looking to spend your holiday in a fabulous and relaxing Menorca villa? Holidays that see you located around the many beaches of the island give you access to a host of nearby beaches as well. No matter where you choose to base yourself, make sure you get out and explore some of the most amazing beaches on the island – there are a lot to choose from!
Cala Macarella – If you’re looking for crystal-clear waters, dive in to test the ones at Cala Macarella, in Menorca. Villa holidays mean that even if you’re not based at a particular place, you have the freedom to visit even for a day trip. The waters around this cove make it look like the boats are suspendedin thin air. The only drawback (or it could be a bonus!) is that it is quite a popular destination during the peak season.
Cala del Pilar –Cala del Pilar is not always high on a tourist itinerary, but scheduling a trip here will reward you with a beautiful view of caramel-gold sands and mesmerizing rock formations. It’s an excellent choice for nature-lovers and photographers who can appreciate the inherent wonder of this alien-like landscape.
Illetes – Raring to try your hand at water sports on your Menorca villa holidays? Head to Illetes for a day trip! There is a wide variety of sporting activities on offer, from kite surfing to sailing and everything in between.
Punta Prima – If you’re looking for soft white sand and a relatively quiet and peaceful beach, Punta Prima is ideal. It has a relaxed, low-key feeling – perfect for those seeking a quiet retreat away from the hustle and bustle of the more crowded parts of the island. The weekends still draw some crowds though, so aim for a weekday if you’re looking for solitude.
Santo Tomas–This is another low-key beach to relax at.Amenities are on the basic side, but the relative lack of crowds gives you plenty of space to stretch out. The offshore currents can be a bit strong, so keep an eye out for the flags and always consider your safety first.
Keep these beaches in mind and you’ll have a hard time choosing your favourite on your unforgettable Menorca villa holidays. If you have access to a car you’ll be able to explore further afield from your base resort. There’s also the option to reply on the island’s public transport to get you around, but although it’s fairly reliable it’s not extensive.
