With a vast number of train lines starting out at St Pancras station, it is one of the busiest train stations in the United Kingdom. St Pancras sees almost 35 million passengers each year, each using the station and its facilities for their travel arrangements. It is inevitable that, with such a large number of visitors and with so many trains coming in and out of the station each day, passengers are likely to misplace or lose their belongings while they are getting on a train, waiting for a train or leaving a train. Some of the common types of lost property include suitcases, coats, travel documentation, laptops and tablets. It is easy to be distracted when you are in a hurry to catch a train so it is always wise to allow enough travel time, in order that you avoid losing your belongings because you are in a rush.

If you discover that you have lost some of your belongings, the most important thing to remember is that there is a lost property system in place at St Pancras which has been designed to help you. The station staff are well trained in handling lost property and they will try their best to reunite you with your belongings. Losing your property at a train station also means that you may end up missing your connecting trains because you are trying to locate your missing items. Whatever situation you find yourself in, please remember that the best thing you can do is rely on the station staff to help you find your belongings.

What to Do if You’ve Left Your Luggage

St Pancras lost property is managed inside the station. If you have left your luggage at the station, it will be collected by a member of staff and it will then be kept at the St Pancras lost property office. Between the hours of 6am and 10pm Monday to Saturday, and 7am and 10pm on Sundays, the lost property office is open and all non-perishable items are kept for 28 days in the office. The team at the lost property office can be contacted on 0207 833 1596 and they will try to help you to locate your items.

What to Do if You’ve Lost Your Property

All lost property is kept at the EuroDespatch Centre, also inside St Pancras station. The EuroDespatch Centre is open between 10am and 5pm Monday to Friday but it is not open on weekends or public holidays. If you want to check to see if your lost property has been found, you can send an email to the EuroDespatch Centre at [email protected]

What Happens if an Item Has Been Found

If an item has been found and sent to the EuroDespatch Centre, then you may be able to have it posted or sent back to St Pancras for collection. It is best to discuss this with the EuroDespatch Centre staff who will be able to explain how this would work.
