There are lots of mobile service providers on the UK market, and a lot of people find the sheer amount of choice they have to be overwhelming. When you’re choosing a mobile operator, you have to make sure that you do your research. Knowing who offers what and what kinds of deals you can get really does help you make that tough decision. Today we’re here to educate you about Vodafone. If you’re looking for a new mobile provider and want to know more about what Vodafone has to offer, then read on to find out everything you need to know about the network…
Coverage with Vodafone…
Coverage with a mobile network basically tells you how good your phone’s reception is going to be. If you have poor coverage in your area, you’ll have poor reception and vice versa. Poor reception means that services like mobile data will be slow, call quality will be bad, and it’s possible that your phone won’t work at all. In general, Vodafone offers pretty decent coverage in most areas, the exceptions being in rural Wales and the high lands of Scotland. You’ll want to check out the coverage map on Vodafone’s web site before deciding whether or not they’re the company for you.
Vodafone Deals on Contracts…
Like all major mobile operators, there are Vodafone deals on both incentive and SIM only contracts. We’re listing the calling plans under SIM only contracts, since the prices on incentive contracts vary by which phone you choose to go with. However, these are the calling plans that are available to you. For £10.50 per month you get three hundred calling minutes, five hundred calling minutes to other Vodafone numbers, unlimited text messages and 250 MB of mobile data. For £15.50 per month you get six hundred calling minutes, five hundred calling minutes to other Vodafone numbers, unlimited text messages and 500 MB of mobile data. Twenty five pounds a month gets you unlimited calling minutes and text messages, plus 2 GB of mobile data. Thirty pounds per month gets you unlimited calling minutes and text messages, plus 4 GB of mobile data. All plans also come with 750 MB of UK WiFi included in the deal.
Vodafone Buy Back…
One of the best Vodafone deals is the Vodafone Buy Back programme. If you’re worried about all that money you’re going to spend on a new mobile phone, then Vodafone is there to help you out. Their Buy Back programme offers up to two hundred pounds for your old mobile, no matter which network you got the mobile from. How much you actually get will depend on the age and condition of the mobile that you want to sell. But you can get a same day transfer into your bank account, so you have the money available almost immediately to help you pay for that new phone that you want. This is a great way to save money on the price of a new mobile.
Vodafone Nearly New…
Vodafone also have a refurbished phone programme called Vodafone Nearly New that can help you save a bunch of money off a new mobile phone. These nearly new phones are devices that have been bought and then returned to Vodafone within seven days. The phones are then cleaned, thoroughly tested and repackaged before being sold. You get the same warranty on a nearly new phone as you do on a brand new phone, so there are no worries about something going wrong. And you can get a healthy discount on nearly new phones when compared to brand new models. Yet another excellent way to save some cash on your new mobile.
Store Delivery…
Vodafone does offer you the option of buying a phone and contract online and having it delivered to a Vodafone store. Why would you want to do this? Firstly, you get the benefit of online shopping discounts. Like many mobile operators, Vodafone offers cheaper prices online than they do in store. But by picking up your mobile from retail store rather than having it delivered to your home, you get a couple of advantages. Firstly, there’s no chance that you’re going to miss the postman and have to spend valuable time running around after your package. But also, when you go to the Vodafone store they’ll give you a free demo of all the functions on your new phone, as well as transferring all your contacts and information from your old phone to your new one. This is a great compromise between getting the great prices you receive from online shopping as well as the great customer service that you get from visiting a retail store.
Port Your Number…
If you’re switching from another mobile operator, Vodafone will port your number for you for free. This means that you get to keep the same mobile number, and not have to worry about informing everyone on your contact list of your new digits. You simply need to contact your old operator before you cancel your contract and ask them for your PAC code. The company is required to give you this information. You then pass your PAC code along to Vodafone when you sign your new contract and they’ll ensure that your number moves service operators with you. This might take a couple of days, but if necessary you’ll be provided with a temporary phone number while the switch over takes place. Be warned though that a PAC code only has a thirty day validity period, so you have to make the switch in that thirty day period, or you’ll need to contact your old operator again for another PAC code. Vodafone will also transfer all your info and contact list from your old operator’s SIM card and phone for free too. Just go in to any Vodafone store and take your old phone and SIM card and your new phone and SIM card with you. Vodafone makes the process of switching mobile operators incredibly easy.
