Where to Stay on a Peisey-Vallandry Ski Holiday

2 Min Read

Peisey-Vallandry ski resort is part of a 400-kilometre stretch of pistes and is surrounded by two famous, (and usually busy) resorts – La Plagne and Les Arcs. It’s a fantastic holiday destination, especially if you’re looking to escape the crowds. It’s a relatively new resort and boasts a little more cultural authenticity than other, more tourist-based areas.

One of the many things travellers love about this place is the wealth of accommodation options available in and around the traditional villages. Wherever you choose to stay, you’re sure to enjoy your Peisey-Vallandry ski holiday.

Savour the Picturesque Sights

Located right near the Vanoise Express (a double-decker cable car), the villages of Vallandry and Plan Peisey are ideal accommodation options for easy access to the skiing pistes. Peisey-Nancroix also offers a great starting point to get to the pistes, and to reach the main cable car you just need to take a short ride on the Cabriolet Gondola.

The other options are Landry and the beautiful old village of Nancroix. However, as these are not linked to any other villages, it is more of a challenge to access the slopes from here. Despite this, each area offers a golden opportunity to savour the area’s natural beauty and local culture, which is a great holiday experience in itself. Choose your accommodation in these areas and ensure everyone in your group enjoys the getaway, whether they are skiing experts or complete beginners!

There are plenty of great chalets available for booking no matter which area of the resort you prefer to base your holiday. Some come equipped with ski lockers and bunk beds for the children, and most will provide fully-equipped kitchens and balconies boasting gorgeous views of the slopes.

Things to Explore

If you decide to stay in Peisey-Vallandry, you’ll have a number of great pistes right on your doorstep. Not only can you enjoy skiing in the resort itself, but there is easy access to La Plagne if you purchase a special Paradiski pass. These passes are great value for money as you can use all of the facilities in Les Arcs while being just a short distance from La Plagne.

As the resort is located in an ideal position on the mountains, visitors can enjoy gorgeous, panoramic views of the Isere and Ponturin river valleys, the Beaufortain region peaks in the north-west and the beautiful Bellecôte Mountain, draped in effervescent snow. Daring free-riders can even access this mountain via La Plagne.

Besides these more athletic activities, you can also make use of the shops, restaurants and bars centred around the small pedestrian area in the Peisey-Vallandry ski villages. There really is something for everyone!

A Peisey-Vallandry ski holiday promises great skiing opportunities, fantastic accommodation options and an eclectic mix of off-piste activities. The resort is well-suited to families of different skiing abilities and boasts a number of traditional villages featuring some beautiful chalets. What more could you need from a ski holiday?
