The Algarve is home to a whole host of fantastic family-friendly water parks, all promising brilliant days out with the youngsters. Some of the most popular include Aqualand, Aquashow and Slide & Splash – each offering a mix of child-friendly fun as well as a few exciting attractions for the adults.
Aqualand
Boasting a dedicated area for the little ones, Aqualand is full of fantastic attractions suitable for the whole family. The park has plenty of great slides of all different shapes and sizes, so you’re sure to find a ride that takes your fancy.
Whether you prefer getting an adrenaline rush from the steep slides, or chilling out on the calmer attractions, this park has got you covered. Enjoy a refreshing dip in the enormous swimming pool, take the kids over to ‘Children’s Paradise’ (which includes two kids’ pools, castles and fountains) or head over to Rainbow Park for even more child-friendly attractions. There really is something to please the whole family at this aqua paradise.
Aquashow
Another water park you might want to try out is Aquashow. Regarded as one of the best in the Algarve, a day with the kids here will not disappoint. ‘Aquakids’ and ‘Aqualandia’ are two designated areas of the park specifically designed for younger kids, so you needn’t worry about keeping everyone entertained. There are plenty of attractions in the main park that also cater to children, and a number of slightly more daunting rides for the big kids!
Have a family race down the Foam Tracks or check out the slow tubes slides for something a little gentler. If you’re feeling brave, check out the FreeFall – it’s just as steep as it sounds.

Having been one of Faro’s favourite water parks for well over 30 years, Slide & Splash is guaranteed to keep the whole family happy. With everything from children’s foam slides to adult-only rides including Kamikaze and Black Hole, you certainly won’t get bored during this day trip.
