Chicago, United States (November 04, 2017) – As conflict and inequity continue to rise in Chicago, Collaboraction Theatre Company has emerged as a vital force and primary agent of the Chicago Peace Movement – deploying theatre to transcend divides, cutlivate knowledge, inspire dialogue & action, and bring Chicagoans together.

Big Tent Productions and Director Peter Hutchison have launched an Indiegogo campaign to raise funds in support of a feature length documentary film that will highlight this vital, transformative work – and take the spirit and message of Chicago Peace movement across the nation, to those who need it most.

Hutchison noted, “The Peacebook Chicago Parks Performance Series is at the heart of Collaboraction’s work in healing and empowering individuals, and the communities they live in. Our world would be a much better place if other communities were able to learn from the positive steps Chicago is taking, in part, under Anthony Moseley’s inspiring creative leadership.” The Peacebook Parks series was created with the explicit goal of transcending racial discriminations and uniting Chicagoans from different cultures. This unique annual performance series – spanning 3 weekends and 3 distinctly differing cultural neighborhoods – concludes in November.

Collaboraction Theatre Company is a Chicago-based non-profit art organization that incites change around critical social issues through original devised theatre. Their PEACEBOOK Festival is currently touring Chicago with 24 world premiere short pieces of theatre about peace in Chicago from over 235 artists with free shows, meals, peace panels and the Dome of Dance – a dance battle tournament in a geodesic dome. The organization is dedicated to the power of art and theatre to cultivate action, dialogue, knowledge and empathy for social betterment.

Peter Hutchison is a NYC-Based critically acclaimed documentary filmmaker, activist, educator and New York Times best-selling author. His most recent film Requiem for the American Dream, featuring Noam Chomsky, is distributed by Netflix.
