(September 19, 2017) – John Byron Hanby IV is a child prodigy. He completed his first documentary when he was eight years old and then has launched his own production company, Fractal Visuals, at age 17, in 2012. Today, Hanby’s company has grown to create video description for well-known brands, and famous musicians worldwide. Fractal Visuals will soon be celebrating five years in business.
Just last week on September 11, 2017, Fractal Visuals also released a viral new video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mTsq0j7Z8yI creating awareness for the USA’s Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma relief efforts. As of now, the video has gained more than 107,000 views on YouTube. Hanby said “Fractal Visuals has a lot of friends, family members and crew members that have been affected by Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma. We hope this video will help make an impact by spreading awareness on how to aid the rebuilding effort.â€
On of Hanby’s short films, Ragamuffin has won many awards, including multiple best music video awards, and has been nominated as a semi-finalist in the Student Academy Awards. He published the film on his 21st birthday which is yet another incredible milestone in his career both as a film producer and as a student. Since the launch, this video has exceeded more than 675000 views on YouTube.
When talking about filmmaking, Hanby said: “I love filmmaking because there is so much room for creativity and expression. My passion is creating worlds, and capturing ideas and emotions in a way that will inspire others.â€
With all of the high recognition gained by Ragamuffin, the film is all set to be shown at the Cannes Short Film Festival next month. Since the release of Ragamuffin, Hanby has published multiple new films including one called ‘TIME’ which is a story about musician Baron Pulitzer’s fight to overcome addiction.
