From the moment you and your mates book your ticket and arrange your Tenerife transfers online you’ll be dreaming about a holiday of fun, fun, fun. And for good reason, the Spanish resorts of Tenerife, in the Canary Islands, are some of the great party capitals of Europe. But you need to know where you’re going to make sure you get the most out of your Tenerife group holiday. Whether you stay there or not, it’s worth checking out the nightlife in Playa de Las Américas and Santa Cruz at least once during your time on the island.
To make sure you’re partying in all the right places, take a look at my top tips for the very best cocktail bars on Tenerife.
Fun in the Sun at the Monkey Beach Club
Whether you come during the day to soak up the sun (and some of the excellent cocktails on offer) or to put on your glad rags and party ‘til dawn, the Monkey Beach Club in Playa de las Américas is the hip place to hang out. Based on the Café del Mar model, this is all ubër-cool sofas on the beach and lots of room for dancing to the ice-cool DJs playing tunes in the open air.
Latin Vibes at the Havana Chic Lounge Club
Another highlight in Playa de las Américas is the Havana Chic Lounge Club. Set in the basement of the Royal Garden Apartments this super cool venue bases its party ethos on the South American model of all night music and partying. Dancing is actively encouraged but there are plenty of secluded seating areas to take a break and sample some of the excellent cocktails.
Sunsets and Cocktails at La Terrazza del Mare
If you’re looking for somewhere for you and your group to enjoy a few ‘sundowners’ and a spectacular sunset then head to La Terrazza del Mare. This stylish hangout with its tepee covered terrace overlooking the Atlantic serves award-winning cocktails; you can even stay here for a delicious dinner before hitting Playa de las Américas’ famous clubs.
Good Value Dining and Cocktails at Budu Restaurant and Lounge Bar
Those looking for a bite to eat to go with their cocktails will love the Budu Restaurant and Lounge Bar in Puerto de la Cruz. A cool, stylish crowd gather here to enjoy a drink in the comfy seating area and then move through to the elegant dining room where a taster menu is served at a reasonable price. Move on to enjoy some of the resort’s cool clubs or stay and dance the night away.
Splash Out on Excellent Cocktails at Harry’s Bar
For mixology connoisseurs there really is only one destination and that’s Harry’s Bar in the Safari Shopping Centre in Playa de las Américas. With stunning ocean views and excellently mixed drinks, Harry’s Bar is not the cheapest option on the island but it is a great place to kick off a night out.
Getting There
Getting to the Canary Islands couldn’t be easier with plenty of budget airlines offering the six hour flight from the UK. When you land, Tenerife transfers to your resort can be expensive and the queues tend to be long, so it’s worth booking before you leave home. Some shuttle operators offer an online booking service for Tenerife transfers, making it a cheap, convenient option for getting your group to their holiday destination.
Lukas Johannes is a driver for Shuttle Direct, the number one provider of shared and private airport transfers all over Europe and northern Africa. If you’re looking for affordable Tenerife transfers Lukas and his colleagues can make sure that you and your luggage get to and from the airport swiftly and safely.
