Having Your Honeymoon in Sicily? These Beaches are the Bomb

2 Min Read

Some people may want their honeymoon in Sicily to be filled with adventure, excitement and exploration – but others might just want to relax and spend quality time with their new wife or husband. If you’re part of the latter group, the best holiday for you may be a beach-based one. After all, does anything sound better than lounging on the sand, warming your bones in the sun, swimming in the sea and swooning over your sweetheart? Not to us!

Spiaggia dei Conigli

This gorgeous beach has earned recognition as one of the beautiful in the world. Located on an island called Lampedusa, Spiaggia dei Conigli is very remote and features fantastically clear blue waters – perfect to spend a day of solitude with just you and your partner on your honeymoon in Sicily.

Top Tip: To get to this beach, you will have to take a ferry ride or a flight and then hike for a bit – so if you’re looking for a low-effort sandy strip, this may not be the one for you.

Mondello

If you’ll be spending some time in Palermo during your honeymoon in Sicily, you simply have to visit Mondello. With its sparkling turquoise waters and soft, white sands, you’ll truly feel like you’ve landed in paradise. You needn’t bring anything except your swimming costume, a good book and each other as there are umbrellas and chairs available to rent and a selection of restaurants nearby (you should definitely try a seafood pasta dish).

San Vito lo Capo

San Vito lo Capo is a breath-taking bay with a shoreline that features a large rock formation, white sand and gently swaying palm trees. Nearby is a village that boasts gorgeous whitewashed fisherman’s houses to enhance the views. If you want to get even farther away from the crowds, you and your sweetheart can slip a few miles down the coast to the Mount Cofano nature reserve – there are lots of quiet, cosy coves where you can hide out and enjoy your honeymoon in Sicily without the crowds.

Scala del Turchi

If you’d like to try out a private beach club while on your honeymoon in Sicily, Scala del Turchi is the place to do it. The clubs here feature places to eat, amenities and sun umbrellas. However, if you’re not bothered about facilities such as those, you can simply walk along the golden sands until you find an empty spot to set up camp with your partner. While you’re here, don’t forget to admire the beautiful white limestone rocks, which are a big part of what makes this beach so unique.

For a balmy, beachy honeymoon, there’s no better place than Sicily. This gorgeous Italian region has all the sun, sand, sea and surf you and your partner will need; you just have to pick which sandy strip you’re going to visit first!
