Want to save some money? Most of us these days are looking to cut costs a little, and since we all have mobile phones, saving money on mobile bills sounds like a great plan. With so many contract options out there, getting the right one can seem like more trial and error than anything else, but there are ways that you can save on your mobile bills without having to try lots of different operators. Today we’re talking about how you get the cheapest mobile operator deals, how to spot a great contract, and which operators are the best for you. So, if you want to save cash and have great mobile service then read on to find out how.
Know What You Need…
If you want the best deal then you’re going to need a contract that fits you perfectly, and that means knowing what your needs are. When you sign up for that contract, you’re going to have to choose a calling plan, and many people waste money by having the wrong plan. A calling plan charges you a monthly fee for fixed limits on the amount of calling minutes, text messages and mobile data that you can use. You will pay the same amount whether you use all of your hundred minute limit, for example, or only ten of those minutes. That’s why a plan that has limits that are too high for you is a waste of money; you end up paying for services that you don’t use. But, should you go over the limits on your calling plan then the operator is going to charge you some hefty fees for using extra services, so a calling plan that’s too small will also end up costing you a bundle. Choose a calling plan carefully. If you don’t know what you need then look at some of your old bills to get an idea of what your average monthly use looks like, or even monitor your phone use for a month.
And The Compare Phone Plans…
Once you know what kind of calling plan you’re looking for you can compare phone plans to see who’s going to give you a great deal. The easiest way to compare phone plans is to go online and find a site that will let you compare mobile tariffs. You can enter the calling plan that you’re looking for into the site, and then you’ll get a list of contracts with different operators that meet your requirements. It’s easy to use this list to see who’s offering the best deals on the market.
Getting Cheaper Prices…
If you want to get the cheapest prices possible on contracts then you’re going to have to shop online. Nearly all mobile operators these days offer special discounts on contracts that are bought online. This is because the overheads for internet retail are much lower than those for physical retail, so it’s cheaper for the operator if you shop online. There are also third party web sites that sell mobile contracts. These sites usually work on commission, getting money from mobile operators for every contract that they sell. It’s worth checking around to see if these third party sites will get you a better price on a contract, though the price differences usually aren’t that big. Watch out for third party deals with cash rebates or free gifts though, since these deals are rarely as good as they sound.
The Cheapest Contracts…
If you’re looking for the operator that offers the cheapest prices then you’ll find that mobile prices are actually fairly even amongst operators. However, if you want a cheap calling plan then Vodafone usually offers the cheapest possible plans. These plans have low limits on the monthly amounts of calling, texting and data that you can use. You’ll have to make sure you keep to these limits or you’re going to get lots of extra charges. But if you are a light phone user who doesn’t need big monthly limits, then Vodafone is probably going to get you the cheapest service that you can get.
The Biggest Contract…
At the other end of the spectrum, heavy phone users are often subject to big phone bills because they often break the monthly limits on contracts. For someone who is a true phone addict the best contract is usually a completely unlimited contract, with no monthly limits at all. These contracts aren’t generally cheap, but if you really do use your phone all the time then they’re probably going to be cheaper than paying for a smaller contract plus those extra fees for limit breaking. The biggest contracts at the best prices are generally offered by T-Mobile. In fact, T-Mobile’s The Full Monty plan is the cheapest completely unlimited contract currently on the market, so it’s worth checking out.
Mobile Data Prices…
Mobile data usually represents the most expensive part of a mobile contract. Cheap contract packages will have low mobile data limits, since this is how operators are able to keep costs down. However, your data limit is maybe the easiest limit to break. If you’re a big mobile data user then you should look to Three for your contract options. Three does have the lowest data prices on the market, and they specialise in providing great mobile internet services. Not only that, but Three do not have a fair usage policy. Many operators employ these fair usage policies, which let the operator slow down your mobile data speeds if they think that you’re using too much data, even if your data plan is supposed to be unlimited. With Three this isn’t going to be a problem, with their All You Can Eat data plans you can use as much mobile data as you wish with no fear of having your speeds throttled. A word of warning though, Three might have cheap data prices, but the cost for calling minutes isn’t the cheapest on the market. If you’re a frequent caller, those calling prices are going to add up fast with Three.
